About this service
We work with municipalities and regional government bodies, public research institutions, NGOs and civil society organisations applying for EU funding, and private companies responding to public procurement tenders. We are familiar with the vocabulary of the main EU funding instruments and the language requirements of the major directives affecting public procurement in Portugal. For EU submissions, we follow the Commission's standard terminology databases and, where the client has specific preferences, incorporate their own glossary. For public procurement, we pay particular attention to qualification and experience criteria, where a poorly translated claim can cause automatic disqualification. We also translate the output documents that public bodies are required to publish: environmental impact assessments, public participation reports, and mandatory disclosures under transparency legislation.
